H. Ray JONES 59, died at 6 p.m. Saturday at Culver Hospital. He had been seriously ill for two weeks and in failing health for two years. Born May 9, 1893, near Perrysville, Mr. Jones was the son of Thomas and Belle Jones. He was married March 31, 1914 to Bess LEWIS at Perrysville. He attended school at Pville and later moved to this city.

A moulder by trade, Mr. Jones was employed at the Crawfordsville Foundry for many years. More recently however he had been employed at Schloot Furniture store. Mr. Jones had been extremely active in the work of the First EUB Church of this city. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Ldoge and during WWII was a member of the State Guard. Survivors include the wife; a daughter, Mrs. Elbert Sherwood of Richmond, Calif; a son, John E. Jones of Chicago; a sister, Mrs Fred Toby of Danville, Ill and 4 grandchildren, Sam, Tom and Suzanne Sherwood and Deborah Jones. A brother, Leigh Jones, d. Dec 24, 1950. Serv. Will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at EUB Church, E. Main St, Crawfordsville in charge of the pastor, Rev. Bennett Fulp with burial in Masonic Cem. Friends may call at Proffit & Sons Funeral home until Tuesday noon.
